[Disney partners with Dapper Labs to launch NFT platform, including Star Wars and Pixar]
Disney and NBA Top Shot developer Dapper Labs announced a partnership to launch the Disney Pinnacle NFT collection platform. Inspired by the physical badges of Disney theme parks, the platform will provide digital versions of Disney, Pixar, and Star Wars character commemorative badges on the Flow blockchain. Dapper Labs CEO Roham Gharegozlou revealed that Marvel IP will not be covered initially.
Disney Pinnacle focuses on mobile devices and is committed to improving the user experience. Gharegozlou emphasized that the platform will balance the needs of everyday fans with limited-edition collectors. A waiting list is currently open and testing is being conducted to optimize the official launch.
Dapper Labs is known for breaking out in the NFT market in 2021 with NBA Top Shot. The company also developed the Flow blockchain, which is designed to support a wide range of consumer applications. The launch of Disney Pinnacle comes amid a resurgence in the NFT market, and Gharegozlou is bullish on next-generation platforms and applications based on digital ownership.
