OpenAI co-founder predicts the rise of AI superintelligence
According to Odaily Planet Daily, OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever said at the NeurIPS 2024 conference that the era of artificial intelligence pre-training is coming to an end and AI superintelligence is about to rise.
Sutskever noted that advances in hardware, software and machine learning algorithms are outpacing the amount of data available to train AI models, and he likened data to fossil fuels, saying they will eventually run out.
He believes that agent AI, synthetic data, and inference time computing will be the next development direction of AI, and will eventually give birth to super artificial intelligence.
