As institutional adoption of Bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrencies increases day by day, an analyst has suggested investors allocate a small portion of their portfolios to Bitcoin.
Speaking to Bloomberg, Thomas Peterffy, the founder of leading US brokerage firm Interactive Brokers and billionaire entrepreneur, argued that everyone should own Bitcoin.
However, Peterffy, who opened parenthesis on this issue, said investors are too much, “Everyone who does not own Bitcoin (BTC) should own it. But there is no need to hold it too much.”
“Everyone should have some Bitcoin. However, you should invest 2-3 percent of your net assets in Bitcoin.
Because investing more than 10 percent of your assets in Bitcoin is very risky.”
Peterffy stated that the volatility of BTC and cryptocurrencies is behind these statements.
The famous name admitted that he is afraid of cryptocurrencies due to their volatility and basically described them as just a fantasy.
“So there is no underlying volume. The only value it has is the same as a paper dollar. So, nothing.”
