Billionaire Thomas Peterffy: Anyone without Bitcoin should own a little
Billionaire Thomas Peterffy, founder of Interactive Brokers, recommends that one should own a small amount of Bitcoin, but not too much. He suggests an investment level of 2% to 3% of net worth in Bitcoin, but warns that investing more than 10% is too risky. This view represents a significant shift from his previous statements, when he criticized Bitcoin and predicted it could lead to an economic collapse. However, Peterffy has now acknowledged the potential of Bitcoin as a dominant global currency and believes that owning some Bitcoin is a risk management measure, especially in the context of fiat currencies potentially losing value. He also thinks Bitcoin could reach very high prices or go to 0. Interactive Brokers, Peterffy's company, now offers Bitcoin trading services and several other cryptocurrencies to clients.
