Movement has won big this time, conquering both the community and showcasing its strength to the outside world. It’s been a while since I’ve seen such a well-structured project; the only bug is that the landscape for earning tokens will likely become extremely competitive, and the next big project is uncertain.
It’s worth noting that Binance’s recent move could also directly airdrop $MOVE to BNB holders, approximately 14 tokens for 1 BNB. I saw in the group that a certain large BNB holder got 394,000 tokens for free, worth up to 400,000 USDT. I’m really envious.
It’s undeniable that Movement is a typical VC project with a lot of institutional investment, and their costs are very low. However, based on my deep involvement with MOVE for several months, they really are different; their emphasis on community is extraordinary. Here are some small stories I’ve learned:
① A group member tearfully created 50 accounts and is planning to travel for the New Year.
Under my repeated urging (perhaps I was being overly sentimental), a group member tearfully created 50 accounts manually, to the point where he dreams about MOVE; just hearing MOVE makes him want to throw up.
As a result of MOVE’s airdrop, this guy averaged 1500 tokens per account, and many accounts were sold at high prices on-chain, with earnings approaching 1 million. He’s getting ready to travel with his whole family for the New Year.
In fact, this group member is just one of the countless people who work hard to improve their lives. So please don’t look at us through colored glasses in the future; earning a living with one’s hands deserves respect.
② The founder traveled to China to eat Haidilao with MOD.
Movement’s founder @rushimanche is young and promising; he proactively provided funding for MOD to organize offline gatherings.
What’s even more interesting is that he specifically went to China to eat Haidilao with MOD, and he likely heard a lot of suggestions about community building. I wonder if there were any pictures taken on site; I’m waiting for participants to share.
For a long time, many project MODs operated on love alone, and airdrops might not have been weighted. However, the MOVE team has demonstrated what respect means through their actions. I hope future projects can learn from MOVE and value and reward community contributors.
③ Offline participants received an average of 2500 tokens in airdrops.
The Move Chinese community once organized offline gatherings in Chengdu and Shenzhen, and it’s said that participants were all given banana roles, with each role receiving an airdrop of 2500 $MOVE tokens, making them the highest-paid extras.
It’s said that this role was fought for by @boboNFA, indicating two things: community unity and the team listens to advice. Compared to some projects that only engage in PUA and ignore the community, MOVE’s recent move directly made it legendary.
The above three anecdotes actually happened and are just the tip of the iceberg for MOVE community building. Next, we’ll see how the MOVE ecosystem develops.
I have always believed that for L1 and L2, the official structure determines the ecological ceiling. MOVE’s recent operations are nothing short of perfect; they won over the community and set a good precedent for ecological development. Now we’re just waiting for the mainnet launch to build together.
