Stablecoin Capitalization Hits New High, #Bitmain Will Open US Production: What's New?
- The downturn in the crypto market led to the liquidation of futures positions worth more than $1.7 billion
On the night of December 9, the bitcoin rate momentarily fell to $95,042, but later the asset regained its position. At the time of writing, the first cryptocurrency is trading above $97,200.
- Almost all cryptocurrencies with the largest capitalization have shown declines in the last 24 hours. The biggest drop was #Tron (-12.69%) and #Cardano (12.29%). Against this background, the volume of futures liquidations on the cryptocurrency market amounted to more than $1.7 billion in 24 hours.
More than 580,000 traders' positions were liquidated in the last day. Approximately $1.5 billion of losses fell on long positions, more than $185 million — on short positions. Most positions were liquidated in pairs with different altcoins.
The most significant amounts of liquidations were on the cryptocurrency exchanges Binance, OKX, and Bybit — about $722 million, $441 million, and $371 million, respectively. The largest liquidation of $19.69 million was recorded on Binance in the ETH/USDT trading pair.
