After U.S. President Biden announced a pardon for his son, Hunter Biden, some netizens stated that Trump should also pardon Binance founder Zhao Changpeng upon taking office, and could even appoint Zhao as the head of Trump's cryptocurrency department.

U.S. President Joe Biden, on the evening of the 2nd, went back on his previous promise, releasing a statement through the White House announcing the pardon of his son, Hunter Biden, and stating that Hunter had faced unfair prosecution, with the charges against him becoming a tool for political opponents.

However, due to the Biden team's previous statements that they would not use their power to grant pardons before officially exiting the race, netizens are now mocking Biden for 'not pretending anymore.' It is reported that Biden's son, Hunter Biden, was found guilty of illegally purchasing and possessing firearms in June, and in September, Hunter admitted to nine counts of tax violations.

Zhao Changpeng: Willing to do everything possible to help Trump

In response, Zhao Changpeng (CZ), founder of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance, retweeted the news of Biden pardoning Hunter Biden on Twitter, accompanied by '关注' (attention) and a shrug emoji, seemingly with a hint of sarcasm.

Additionally, supporters of CZ commented that the newly elected President Trump, who holds a friendly attitude towards cryptocurrencies, should also pardon CZ and appoint him as the head of his cryptocurrency department. Subsequently, CZ actively responded, stating that although he is not a U.S. citizen, he is willing to help Trump in any way he can.

Could CZ serve as the catalyst for BNB by taking charge of Trump's cryptocurrency department?

We know that last November, Binance reached a settlement agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice, Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and other agencies, agreeing to pay a hefty fine of $4.3 billion. CZ also admitted to violating U.S. anti-money laundering laws and resigned as CEO of Binance, ultimately being sentenced to four months in prison by the U.S. District Court in Seattle, before being released at the end of September.

Although CZ has stated he will not return to Binance, as a key figure who built the Binance empire, many netizens believe CZ will continue to influence Binance and its token BNB. If CZ truly becomes the head of Trump's cryptocurrency department, he may become a catalyst for BNB.
