Cryptocurrency Market Observation and Reflections

Recently, the decline in the meme sector has been quite frustrating, while DeFi seems to be showing some signs of vitality. The overall market is not performing well, but today LINK surprisingly rose by 30%, and AAVE, CRV, UNI, and others also saw decent gains. The worst performer is probably EIG, which is in the re-staking sector.

Although I don't usually play with meme coins, my SOL situation isn't great either. The meme sector was thriving before, so how did it suddenly go downhill? I didn't even see it coming.

I feel CZ is quite impressive; his previous posts seemed to support DeFi and criticize meme coins.

Trading coins is too difficult; I might as well stick to dollar-cost averaging. CB launched the Hippo coin, which doubled instantly. Those who acted fast could easily make a profit, but unfortunately, I was sleeping at that time and missed out on the money.

Whether it's meme or DeFi, the essence is the explosion of on-chain data. If you haven't been involved in the on-chain world, it's fine if you've made money; if not, you might want to consider it. Even if things don't go well, there are still plenty of arbitrage and yield farming opportunities.

How are your altcoins performing? Have you made a profit after holding for a year? Some altcoins have surged quite a bit these days; I wonder if you all made any money.

I used to dollar-cost average into many altcoins, and during that time, I often faced unrealized losses of 40% or 50%, which was hard to bear. Even the large holdings in BTC, which I dollar-cost averaged into at over 20,000, would have likely suffered 80% to 90% losses if I had invested alongside altcoins; in the end, I didn't make any money.

Eventually, I held on until I broke even and then liquidated, after all, these were quality DeFi projects I had dollar-cost averaged into. If I were to dollar-cost average into DeFi now, I should be able to get rich.
