After the unsuccessful attempt to attack Canada in 1812, the United States began to attack Mexico in 1845, annexing California and Texas, and even entering Mexico City. However, they later signed a peace treaty and withdrew, keeping California and Texas.
The signing of the treaty was not due to the kindness of the Americans, but because they suffered heavy losses from guerrilla attacks while occupying Mexico City. To put it plainly, the United States did not have the strength to completely annex Mexico back then.
So, the late emperor started his venture but died halfway, and now the world is divided into three parts, with Yizhou exhausted... uh, wrong, the U.S. is still very strong, but it has indeed reached its geographical expansion limits.
That being said, I think the United States seemed to benefit everywhere during World War II, but in reality, it lost a golden opportunity - to annex Canada and/or Mexico.
If the United States had annexed Canada and Mexico during the chaos in Europe back then, it would mean its territory exceeded that of Russia, with a population of 500-600 million...
That would truly be a lasting legacy, with the West remaining undefeated.
What a pity, there is no turning back 😂
