Cryptocurrencies I'm saving in for the long term: my bet for 2030
(In addition to #BTC)
Since I started in the world of trading and investments, I have always been clear that some cryptocurrencies are not just assets to trade, but real projects with the potential to transform entire industries. That is why I have decided to save and invest for the long term in a selection of cryptocurrencies that I firmly believe will last over time and that have strong institutional participation. These are the cryptocurrencies that I plan to hold, at least, until 2030.
Why these cryptocurrencies?
In this market, it's easy to get carried away by the excitement and chase trendy projects or tokens that promise quick profits. However, my approach is different. These cryptocurrencies not only have strong technological backing, but they also have exceptional development teams, clear use cases, and in many cases, support from major institutions.
Over the years, I have learned that investing in projects with solid fundamentals is more profitable than chasing hype. Although I also use some of these cryptocurrencies for spot or futures trading, my main intention with them is to hold them for the long term as a strategic bet on the future.
My 18 long-term projects
1. Ethereum (ETH): The queen of smart contracts. With Ethereum 2.0 and its move to proof-of-stake (PoS), its scalability and adoption will only continue to grow.
2. Chainlink (LINK): Data is the future, and Chainlink is the bridge that connects smart contracts to the real world.
3. Polkadot (DOT): Interoperability is key, and Polkadot is the leader in connecting blockchains.
4. Internet Computer (ICP): An ambitious bid to decentralize the Internet. Although controversial, its technology is disruptive.
5. Filecoin (FIL): Decentralized storage is a growing need, and Filecoin is leading the way.
6. Aave (AAVE): The foundation of DeFi. Its lending protocol has revolutionized decentralized finance.
7. Hedera Hashgraph (HBAR): Fast, efficient, and backed by giants like Google and IBM.
8. Quant Network (QNT): The solution to integrate blockchains with traditional systems.
9. Algorand (ALGO): Innovative technology with a focus on speed, security, and sustainability.
10. Celo (CELO): A project focused on global financial inclusion.
11. Stellar (XLM): Ideal for fast and cheap cross-border transfers.
12. Avalanche (AVAX): One of the fastest blockchains, with huge potential in DeFi and NFT.
13. Ripple (XRP): Despite its legal controversies, its adoption for cross-border payments continues to grow.
14. Tezos (XTZ): A blockchain that is constantly evolving thanks to its governance model.
15. VeChain (VET): Leader in tracking and logistics, with real applications in renowned companies.
16. Polygon (MATIC): Scalability for Ethereum and the foundation of many successful projects.
17. The Graph (GRT): The blockchain search engine. Fundamental for Web3.
18. Cardano (ADA): An academic project that advances slowly, but with solid foundations.
Why keep them until 2030?
2030 is not just an arbitrary number. I believe that by that date, many of these projects will have proven their true worth. Institutional and global adoption of blockchain is moving forward rapidly, but we are still in the early stages. By holding these cryptocurrencies for several years:
I benefit from exponential growth: Disruptive technologies take time to mature, but once they do, the benefits are enormous.
I avoid market emotions: I don't get carried away by daily ups and downs; my focus is long-term.
I am participating in the digital transformation: These cryptocurrencies are not just financial assets; they are pillars of the new digital economy.
My approach to trading and saving
Although I hold these cryptocurrencies for the long term, that doesn't mean I don't use them for trading. Some of them I trade in spot or futures to take advantage of market movements. However, I always respect one key rule: the part destined for savings is never touched.
Conclusion: A bet on the future
These cryptocurrencies represent more than just investments for me; they are a bet on the future of technology and the economy. By sticking to my strategy and not letting myself get carried away by the emotions of the market, I believe I will be better prepared to take advantage of the potential of these projects.
If you are thinking about saving or investing for the long term, I invite you to do your research and find the projects that really resonate with you. Trading is a short-term career; investing, a long-term vision. Both can coexist if you are clear about your plan and your objectives.
Because in the end, it's not just about accumulating assets; it's about believing in the future that these projects are helping to build.
