Software company MicroStrategy announced it has purchased Bitcoin again, marking the company's fourth consecutive week of buying this flagship cryptocurrency. Thanks to this, the company now holds 402,100 BTC, which accounts for over 1.2% of the total BTC supply.
MicroStrategy acquires 15,400 BTC
The company announced in a press release that it has acquired 15,400 BTC at a price of $1.5 billion, with an average price of $95,976 per Bitcoin. The BTC return so far this quarter (QTD) is 38.7%, and the year-to-date (YTD) BTC return is 63.3%.
Following this acquisition, MicroStrategy currently holds 402,100 BTC, with a purchase price of $23.4 billion and an average price of $58,263. The company's co-founder Michael Saylor also confirmed this progress in a post on X.
The latest Bitcoin purchase by MicroStrategy is the fourth purchase the company has made in consecutive weeks. Interestingly, before the company started these recent purchases, it announced plans to raise $42 billion over the next three years to buy more Bitcoin. Since then, it has purchased Bitcoin worth over $13.5 billion. Last week's purchase was the largest of all, as the company bought 55,500 Bitcoins for $5.4 billion.
