【Interpol: Beware of an Emerging Cryptocurrency Fraud Involving Stablecoins】According to Golden Finance, Interpol's financial crime operation has made a record 5,500 arrests and seized over $400 million in illicit goods. During the operation, a Purple Notice was issued, warning countries to be vigilant against an emerging cryptocurrency fraud involving stablecoins. Member countries were informed about the 'USDT Token Approval Scam,' which allows fraudsters to access and control victims' cryptocurrency wallets. This two-step approach first uses romantic bait techniques to lure victims, instructing them to purchase the popular Tether stablecoin (USDT Token) through legitimate platforms. Once the scammers gain the victims' trust, they provide phishing links, claiming to allow them to set up investment accounts. In reality, by clicking, they authorize the scammers full access, allowing them to transfer funds from the wallet without the victims' knowledge.
