Why should we not miss this wave of AI Agent narrative?
Many people still think that AI Agents, like 'AI + DePIN, AI computing power / reasoning aggregation platforms, AI MEME', are just a temporary hype. But in fact, I want to say that they are merely reflections of different stages of AI + Crypto integration, and will ultimately drive the arrival of the main bull market. Next, I will discuss my views point by point:
1) In summary, the narrative logic of AI + Crypto becoming the main wave of this bull market will not change, because the training of AGI large models and the future in-depth development of multi-modal AI industries will increasingly demand traditional resources like computing power, storage, and data. This means that the AI industry will become very competitive and brutal, and monopolies will be inevitable, which will inevitably create a part of small and medium enterprises' innovation demand 'spillover'.
AI will bring 'incremental' fundamentals to the Crypto field, and the Crypto world can precisely accommodate this wave of overflowing resource demand.
For example, LLM training requires cheap computing power to integrate idle resources; for instance, vertical landing in some medical and supply chain finance-related fields requires privacy, and the Crypto ZK+ distributed governance framework will become the key foundation; additionally, distributed reasoning needs many scenario-optimized algorithm matches and an incentive framework that can record the reasoning process—this is exactly what Crypto Tokenomics excels at. Therefore, from a macro perspective, AI + Crypto is undoubtedly an irreversible inevitability.
2) However, the AI + DePIN hype seems to have cooled down. Many large AI projects focused on distributed computing power, algorithms, and reasoning, backed by heavy VC investments, have not stirred much excitement. Recently, AI + MEME, represented by GOAT and others, has shown the market a new vitality driven by community culture, followed by the AI Agent token issuance craze, which has given the market new hope for large-scale AI applications through Crypto.
At first glance, the AI narrative seems to lack logic, moving from DePIN to aggregated computing power reasoning service platforms and finally landing on AI Agents, seemingly disproving the feasibility of AI + Crypto?
But I believe that AI + DePIN is laying the groundwork for basic infrastructure; distributed computing/reasoning platforms are building computing power and algorithm incentive networks; AI + MEME is accelerating market education and dissemination of AI applications using secondary wealth effects; and AI Agents represent the final application landing and user reach.
Based on this logic, it is not difficult to see that the AI + DePIN and computing power reasoning aggregation networks are trying to build AI + Crypto scenarios that are too large and heavy. The external demand they aim to accommodate is not adequately competitive and mature in the internet field, so it will naturally seem useless and meaningless in the short term in the Crypto field.
But what if we reversed the order of developing infra construction and application token issuance + MEME dissemination?
First, let's allow lightweight AI Agents with practical demand to develop in the Crypto field. During this process, high-quality Agents can connect with the MEME community to provide support. When the potential of AI asset issuance and AI MEME primitives becomes strong enough, wouldn't it be more reliable to tackle AI + Crypto infrastructure?
In other words, transitioning from developing 'fat protocols' to 'lean applications', using lightweight and quickly iteratable lean applications to sound the charge, then using MEME narratives based on vertical scenes to drive secondary market user FOMO, and finally developing technically ambitious and long-term visions of fat protocols that are difficult to land. This logic makes sense, right?
3) So, we focus on the AI Agent narrative. AI Agent refers to AI intelligent services that can make autonomous decisions and automate task execution, with the main goal of improving human-machine collaboration efficiency through personalized scene customization and automated processes.
Common AI Agents have been widely applied in various scenarios, including code development, creative content generation, research assistance, personal financial planning, and professional consulting (such as legal and medical).
At this point, someone must be thinking, haven't these AI Agents already developed on a large scale in the web2 field for a long time? Their business models like SaaS subscriptions, API call billing, and value-added services are all operating normally. Why do they need to issue tokens in the web3 circle to create a bubble? Where is the promised value application?
In my view, there is no conflict. AI Agents do not develop ideally in a pure web2 environment, which is the premise for many Agents to come to web3 to issue tokens. Moreover, the value sedimentation in Crypto must go through a process of inflating bubbles. DeFi, NFTs, inscriptions, GameFi, MEME, all have experienced the FOMO period of 'asset issuance stories'.
This seemingly financial nihilism bubble period, while making the entire industry appear 'chaotic' in the short term, will attract funds and users that will settle down, injecting momentum into the industry's subsequent development.
NFT's digital art may seem void, but it has genuinely caused ETH deflation. The decorative art of inscriptions may seem void, but it helped miners survive the shutdown hurdle before halving. Similarly, the AI Agent token issuance wave, while filled with speculation in the short term, will bring a broader influx of users and funds into the Crypto circle. Looking at it from a longer perspective, these short-term nihilistic FOMO narratives will certainly solidify corresponding value, and we must not miss opportunities due to prejudice.
4) Finally, I want to say that AI Agents are important for ordinary retail investors and equally important for project parties in various vertical fields under the heavy pressure of VC coins.
From now on, we should think about how to empower our chain using AI + narratives: embedding modular AI preprocessing components? Building AI Agent tools suitable for community participation? Spreading MEME culture with AI personalities?
The addition of these AI elements will make your heavy and difficult-to-land roadmap appear more 'youthful', allowing what originally required long-term technical landing stories to gradually apply using AI Agents in a lightweight manner, while gradually amplifying influence using AI MEMEs that are more entertaining and easier to spread. Instead of engaging in meaningless opposition, why not embrace it?
Embracing lightweight AI Agents and AI MEME community culture will become the optimal solution to reshape the past project's 'technology, operations, community, market, brand' and other heavy asset development paths.
Many people dislike MEME-ifying all value, stubbornly cultivating the faith of application landing in solitude, sneering at those FOMO-driven speculations, thus often missing opportunities. Yet, there are always some who prefer to MEME-value everything, thriving in the financial nihilism of PVP games, while coldly observing the technology and fundamental value supporting this game, only to end up with an empty joy of exiting.
Let's string AI Agent + AI MEME + AI Platform + AI DePIN into a main narrative, without opposition between technology VC coins and MEME, to jointly promote the grand narrative of AI + Crypto, achieving this long-awaited main bull market.
