Biography of Vivek Ramaswamy – Co-leader of the DOGE Department
Vivek Ramaswamy, born on August 9, 1985, in Cincinnati, Ohio, is an entrepreneur, investor, author, and Indian-American politician. He is the former CEO of Roivant Sciences, a biotechnology company, and has emphasized the importance of developing neglected drugs. Ramaswamy was one of the top students at Harvard, where he graduated in 2007 with a degree in Molecular Biology and History, before earning his Juris Doctor degree from Yale in 2013.
In 2023, Ramaswamy announced his candidacy for President of the United States as a Republican, focusing on opposing “wokeness” and reducing the size of government. Recently, he was appointed as co-leader of the DOGE Government Efficiency Initiative alongside Elon Musk. The goal of DOGE is to cut the U.S. government budget by $6.5 trillion, minimize bureaucracy, and restructure the administrative framework. DOGE is expected to operate until July 4, 2026.
