The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has filed a lawsuit against Touzi Capital and its CEO Eng Taing, alleging that they deceived more than 1,500 investors through misleading statements in a fraud case involving an unregistered securities offering of $115 million. The SEC said that Taing and Touzi Capital raised funds through crypto mining and debt restructuring projects, but diverted the funds to unrelated businesses and falsely promoted investments as "stable and predictable." Previously, the SEC stated in its enforcement report for fiscal year 2024 that a total of 583 enforcement actions were initiated, with fines reaching $8.2 billion. (DL News)
