PANews reported on November 30 that according to the Hong Kong Radio website, Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission CEO Leung Fung-yee reiterated in her latest interview that the licensing of virtual asset trading platforms in Hong Kong will be announced before the end of the year, but did not respond to whether there were any platforms that were "deemed to be licensed" and failed to meet the standards after review. However, the report will disclose the problems that are commonly found when platforms apply for licenses.
As of now, the number of applicants for virtual asset trading platform licenses announced by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission is 15. According to the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance, a total of 11 platforms including HKbitEX, PantherTrade, Accumulus, DFX Labs, Bixin.com, xWhale, YAX, Bullish, Crypto.com, WhaleFin, and Matrixport HK are considered to be licensed.
