Many traders may have had such feelings: "The market is always against me; whenever I buy, it falls; whenever I sell, it rises."
This situation is indeed experienced by many, and I have had similar feelings. In fact, this is a matter of not having the right mindset.
Let’s listen to how Livermore views this issue. He said: "I never complain about the market; the responsibility is never with the market, but with my method."
In other words, the market is never wrong; the wrong one is always us.
Mencius said: "When things do not go as planned, seek the cause within oneself."
When we can think of this layer, we will seek answers to correct our mistakes, instead of being stuck in the quagmire of complaining about the market. There will be no other good results besides sinking deeper and deeper. Because our attention is entirely focused on finding excuses for failure instead of answers for success.
Imagine, if we keep complaining about the market, we will take every opportunity to prove that the market is wrong, rather than ourselves.
Whenever a trade incurs a loss, we find another piece of evidence to prove that the market is wrong. This behavior is completely subconscious; we are not even aware of it.
So, only when we adjust our mindset does the change begin:
We start to learn extensively about technical analysis;
We begin to learn about the fundamentals of investing;
We start to build and refine our trading system;
We consciously cultivate our mindset;
We begin to deliberately practice our execution skills;
We start a lot of real trading operations to improve our trading skills;
We begin extensive review to enhance our market intuition.
……………………
Finally, one day, the dawn of enlightenment suddenly appears in a corner of our world, and the sun shines brightly in an instant.
Soon after, we officially step into a realm where we can make a living from trading. At that time, we are free in body and mind, financially free, and free in every way.
Therefore, everything begins with adjusting our mindset.
