Kaal Dhairya, a key figure in the Shiba Inu (SHIB) ecosystem, strongly believes in the long-term sustainability of the meme-inspired cryptocurrency, suggesting that SHIB will continue to thrive for the next 20 years.

On Tuesday, his comments came in response to a question from Rand Hindi, CEO of open-source cryptography firm Zama, who asked his followers to identify crypto assets they believe will remain relevant two decades from now, worthy of passing down to future generations. While Hindi confirmed that he would be gifting Bitcoin to his heirs, Dhairya offered a compelling counterpoint from the Shiba Inu team’s perspective.

In a tweet that quickly caught the attention of the SHIB Army, Dhairya used an imaginative metaphor to share the project’s long-term vision. He suggested that the team would “pack” the Shiba Inu ecosystem’s various tokens, namely SHIB, LEASH, BONE, and TREAT, into a “Super BLT sandwich,” which would be handed down to future generations.

This metaphor underscores Dhairya’s confidence in the durability and continued relevance of the Shiba Inu platform and its diverse tokens, which he believes are built to last for decades.

Notably, the Shiba Inu team’s dedication to long-term relevance is reflected in its ongoing development of utility projects that aim to strengthen the ecosystem. These initiatives, spanning gaming to metaverse ventures, are all designed to ensure Shiba Inu’s position in the cryptocurrency space for years to come.

Central to this vision is Shibarium, Shiba Inu’s rapidly growing Layer 2 blockchain. According to recent data, with an average block time of just 21.55 seconds, Shibarium has processed over 562 million transactions. Furthermore, the network continues to expand, with over 200,000 accounts and nearly two million active addresses. Shibarium has verified almost 4,500 contracts and completed over eight million blocks, solidifying its growing influence in the ecosystem.

Moreover, each token in the Shiba Inu ecosystem serves a distinct function, further reinforcing the project’s versatility. SHIB acts as both a medium of exchange and a store of value, while BONE serves as the governance token for ShibaSwap. LEASH provides incentives like liquidity rewards and NFT minting opportunities, and TREAT, which is set to launch soon, will serve as the official reward token. These tokens will also be vital in the upcoming Doggy DAO, Shiba Inu’s community governance framework.

That said, Dhairya’s belief in Shiba Inu’s long-term potential resonates with investors looking for a meme token with lasting value. This vision also aligns closely with Shytoshi Kusama’s broader strategy for the project. Under Kusama’s leadership, Shiba Inu has transformed from a simple meme coin into a serious blockchain contender. In a July interview, Kusama revealed that the project is now focused on driving the shift from Web2 to Web3 to challenge centralized giants like Google.
