TL;DR: COTI will upgrade from V1 to V2 tokens as we transition to the V2 Mainnet in Q1 next year. The process will be straightforward, requiring minimal effort for all users.

As we transition to COTI V2 Mainnet in Q1 next year, we’ll be upgrading COTI V1 Native tokens to COTI V2 Native tokens (There will be no need to change the COTI ERC20 tokens). While there’s still ample time until the upgrade, the COTI team is dedicated to making the upgrade process seamless for $COTI holders and we’d like to share all the information ahead of time.

The COTI token is a core component of our network, powering the COTI ecosystem and the future of fast, scalable privacy in Web3. The Mainnet launch is a major milestone and we are thrilled about the growth it will bring to our ecosystem.

Let’s dive in!

  • All V1 Native $COTI deposited in the Treasury will be automatically upgraded to V2 $COTI, and will be accessible via the Treasury App (at https://treasury.coti.io/ ). All you’ll need to do is to provide a MetaMask wallet address which will be used to receive your $COTI V2 tokens. The collection of MetaMask wallet addresses will begin in the coming weeks.

  • For all other V1 Native $COTI held outside the Treasury (including VIPER wallet addresses), you’ll have the option to use the COTI bridge for a seamless 1:1 token swap at https://bridge.coti.io/ .

  • For all $COTI ERC20 holders: No action is required, as the ERC20 contract will remain unaffected.

*All of the above also applies to $gCOTI token.

For holders of V1 $COTI tokens on Huobi or Kucoin — No action is required at the moment. We are working with the exchanges to prepare for the upgrade, and we’ll inform you in due time.

Ongoing Support: The COTI V1 network will remain active in the foreseeable future.

COTI V2 Airdrop Campaign

The COTI V2 airdrop campaign for Treasury users has been running on an ongoing basis since March 2024 and will continue until the COTI V2 Mainnet launch.

Recently, we’ve increased the campaign rewards pool by almost 40% (see announcement), bringing the total campaign rewards to 55M $COTI tokens! These rewards will be distributed in the 12 months following the V2 Mainnet launch, as per fixed epochs. Full details on the airdrop campaign can be found here.
