According to TechFlow, on November 29, according to the official blog, Binance issued a security alert, pointing out that criminals are impersonating Binance official representatives on platforms such as Telegram and WhatsApp, creating fake communities to carry out fraudulent activities.

Binance disclosed a typical case in which a scammer who called himself "Michael Hewson" pretended to be a Binance analyst on WhatsApp, created fake groups and randomly invited users to join, using Binance anniversary prizes as bait to commit fraud. Although the scammer shared the real content of Binance Academy to increase credibility, there were many suspicious features in the group, such as the distortion of the Binance logo, grammatical and punctuation errors in the text, etc.

Binance particularly emphasized that it has never appointed any official analysts to provide investment advice to users, and called on users to verify the authenticity of the channels through Binance's official verification tool (Binance Verify) and be vigilant to prevent such fraud.
