Recently, Clanker's popularity has surged, not only refocusing market attention on the Base ecosystem but also making AI Agents the next main narrative in analysts' eyes.
Clanker's breakout has also brought a lot of attention back to Farcaster, with protocol founder Dan Romero stating the intention to create a hundred Clanker opportunities. Meanwhile, Clanker has also given rise to a batch of popular meme coins, and their market value continues to rise.
Many view Clanker as the social version of Pump.fun, and combined with the AI Agents narrative, it seems this product could become the next wealth secret. So what exactly is Clanker? Can ordinary users participate in token issuance? What other popular AI Agents-related meme projects are worth noting on the Base ecosystem?
I. How to get the most out of Clanker?
In short, Clanker is an AI program that helps users launch tokens. Users only need to @Clanker on Farcaster clients like Warpcast or Supercast and write their token deployment needs, and it will launch the token on Base for them.
This application was developed by Farcaster full-stack engineer Jack Dishman and founder @proxystudio.eth of the Farcaster ecosystem. According to the founder of Farcaster, Clanker is based on a large language model (LLM) that can detect user content and also supports images and other functionalities, taking advantage of Warpcast's distribution benefits.
In the latest official documentation from @proxystudio.eth, new additions and explanations have been provided regarding Clanker.
Clanker is an autonomous agent for deploying tokens. Currently, users can request Clanker to deploy ERC-20 tokens on Base by tagging @Clanker on Farcaster.
Currently, the only requirement to use Clanker is to have a Farcaster account with a good Neynar user rating. The Neynar user rating is generated based on the user's behavior on the platform, with scores ranging from 0 to 1, which can be obtained through interaction with quality users.
Each Farcaster account can request Clanker to deploy one token per day. When deploying a token, the user needs to tag Clanker (@clanker) in a broadcast on Farcaster and provide the token name, token code, and optional image/gif in the body of the broadcast.
Clanker will respond to user requests in the following three scenarios:
1. After successful deployment, Clanker will respond with a link to its website clanker.world, which contains a link to the token page of the deployed token.
2. If Clanker is unclear about the request, Clanker will ask clarifying questions to determine the token name, code, and whether the requester wishes to deploy the token.
3. If the requester is unable to deploy tokens for various reasons (the token deployment limit has been reached, the requester's Neynar user score is too low, or the requester has been banned from using Clanker).
A specific example is warpcast user @artlu posting @Clanker and writing the token name BURROTI and symbol BURRITO, along with an image of a burrito. Clanker not only helped successfully launch the token but also interacted and communicated with them.
Token deployment:
After receiving a valid token deployment request, Clanker will deploy the ERC-20 token on Base by calling the contract:
Initial token minting: Mint a new ERC-20 token for the deployer contract.
Uniswap V3 pool creation: The initial market value of the Uniswap V3 pool is approximately $30,000.
Providing liquidity to the pool: ERC-20 tokens sent from the deployer's contract to the Uniswap V3 non-fungible position manager, adding unilateral liquidity to the pool.
Liquidity locking: The LP NFT is then sent to the LP lock contract with a preset default locking period.
Fee structure and rewards:
When Clanker deploys a token, it will launch a Uniswap V3 pool on Base with a protocol fee of 1%. With each transaction of the token, 1% of every swap in the pool will be collected and redistributed as rewards:
60% of swap fees - Protocol (Clanker)
40% of swap fees - Requester (user requesting Clanker to deploy tokens)
Creating tokens on Clanker is free, and creators can earn 40% of the Uniswap LP fees for the tokens they request, so the larger the trading volume, the more ownership users gain in the token, and correspondingly, the more ETH rewards they receive.
II. Popular meme concepts of AI Agents in the Base ecosystem
As of the writing of this article, Clanker has issued a total of 4,339 tokens and generated over $7 million in revenue.
According to data provided by Dune data platform user @0xluc, Clanker achieved the highest daily revenue between November 20 and 26, displaying a continuous upward trend.
According to Dexscreener data, the meme coin CLANKER from the Clanker application currently has a market value of approximately $87.5 million, a coin price of $87.54, and a 15.95% decline in the last 24 hours.
In addition to CLANKER, there are two other popular memes derived from the Clanker application: ANON and LUM.
ANON is an application social product created by Polish developer woj (@wojtekwtf) based on the Farcaster protocol in October this year, supporting users to post anonymously through SuperAnon accounts using zk proof technology.
Subsequently, an anonymous user interacted with Clanker through the Superanon account, successfully issuing a meme coin named ANON. The subsequent interaction between woj and the community also gradually made ANON famous.
On November 26, Dan Romero, co-founder of Farcaster, posted that the social application Anoncast based on zero-knowledge proof technology launched a new feature allowing users to prove their authorship while posting anonymously when necessary.
ANON has become the first token purchased by Vitalik on Base.
ANON currently has a market value of approximately $34.2 million, a coin price of $0.0034, and a 10% decline in the last 24 hours.
LUM is a token issued in collaboration by the two AI Agents Aethernet and Clanker, where a Farcaster user had the AI agent aethernet from the Higher community utilize Clanker to issue and deploy the token.
LUM currently has a market value of approximately $41.6 million, a coin price of $41.64, and a 10.91% decline in the last 24 hours.
In addition to the aforementioned memes, other popular AI Agents related projects on the Base ecosystem include:
VIRTU
Virtu is an AI agent designed to strengthen the Virtuals ecosystem on the Base blockchain. It provides the development and adoption of technical solutions that drive the Virtuals ecosystem, offering a set of supporting tools that include functionality for managing and optimizing digital assets.
AIXBT
AIXBT is an AI Agent published by @0rxbt on @virtuals_io, which can scrape data from multiple sources and over 400 KOLs to provide real-time information sources. If users hold more than 600,000 AIXBT tokens, they can also directly access the AIXBT terminal.
LUNA
Luna is an AI virtual idol and live streaming agent created by the AI Agent Virtual Protocol on Base, featuring memory and interaction capabilities. The agents of Virtuals Protocol include virtual partners from the AI-dol band, including Luna (lead singer), Olyn, and Iona.
BUG
On November 26, Clanker experienced a technical failure while processing a user SantaClanker token minting request, accidentally creating a token named BUG. This token subsequently gained popularity.
Summary
Clanker is filled with popular concept buffs: AI Agents + Web3 social + meme, and the way it produces memes is closer to daily life compared to Pump.fun, especially since AI agents generate content that is more creative. However, in terms of current scale, it is still far from Pump.fun, and there are limitations on the quantity and threshold for issuing tokens, so Clanker still needs to improve its functions.
