Odaily Planet Daily News Software development giant Oracle Corporation has once again sued cryptocurrency startup Crypto Oracle LLC and its owner Louis Kerner, accusing the latter of "restoring the infringement of Oracle's trademark rights" and "flagrantly violating" the settlement agreement. Oracle initially filed a lawsuit against the cryptocurrency company in 2019, accusing it of "using Oracle's famous trademark as part of its 'CryptoOracle' brand and promoting cryptocurrency-related services to Oracle's own clients and users using that brand." The two companies then reached a confidential settlement, and the court issued a permanent injunction in 2020 prohibiting Crypto Oracle from using the name "CryptoOracle" or any variations of the Oracle trademark. However, Oracle now claims that Crypto Oracle and Kerner have resumed using the name and brand "CryptoOracle," launched new businesses, maintained infringing domain names, and held events under the "CryptoOracle Collective" brand, violating the settlement agreement and court injunction.
