The French company Data4 will build two new data centers in Greece and position itself as a key hub for connectivity and data hosting in the Mediterranean region. Data4's new campus is expected to play a crucial role in the development of Greece's digital infrastructure, supporting its goal of becoming a regional leader in technology and IT. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasized the potential of this investment to boost the local economy, enhance Greece's global image, and create opportunities for skilled tech workers. He stated, “The government is committed to supporting projects that drive digital transformation and promote innovation.” Data4 plans to construct at least two data centers, with the first currently under construction and expected to take about two years to complete. Data4 CEO Olivier Micheli mentioned that the second building will begin construction “based on the absorption and acceleration of the Greek market,” and “the plan is for the first data center to be ready by the end of 2026, or January 2027.” (Cointelegraph)
