XRP Ledger releases a new update after a node disconnection incident destabilizes the network
On November 25, XRP Ledger experienced a network disconnection issue, affecting the operations of several key nodes such as Full History, Current Ledger, Pathfinding, and Submission. The cause of the incident was the loss of a portion of the ledger, which prevented the nodes from validating transactions, leading to network disruption. Developer WietseWind from XRPL Labs stated that the issue occurred when the ledger from 92346896 to 92347095 was lost. After that, most nodes recovered without manual intervention.
To resolve the issue, Ripple released version 2.3.0 update for node operators and validators, aimed at enhancing stability and preventing similar incidents in the future. This update includes several important modifications, such as support for Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPT) and improvements to the voting process in the ledger. At the same time, this launch is also significant as XRPL attracts attention in the field of real asset tokenization.
