Odaily Planet Daily News - Farcaster co-founder Dan Romero detailed the updates of Frames, a decentralized Web3 social protocol. Farcaster Frames launched in January 2024, after which Farcaster's activity surged, with daily active users increasing by 400% in early February. However, there has been a slight decline since then. Romero stated that the first version of Frames still has limitations due to an overwhelming number of interactions that hinder the building of larger applications. Additionally, the image rendering speed of Frames is slow, and the 'ephemeral' state prevents users from returning. He mentioned that the Frames v2 upgrade aims to address some of these issues by providing more advanced framework standards that support more flexible full-screen in-app applications, interactive experiences, on-chain transactions, and user notifications. "Developers can build any content that renders in the browser and can use the framework SDK to trigger actions such as saving a frame or requesting an on-chain transaction," Romero explained. The initial new specifications for Frames that Romero highlighted will be released on November 27 for web and mobile devices, followed by an updated version with more features on December 6. According to the complete specifications on GitHub, the full stable version is expected to be released in January or February. (Cointelegraph) Earlier today, Farcaster co-founder Dan Romero announced on X that the developer preview of Frames v2 is now live, with the new version using mobile wallet protocols and Rainbow to enhance the reliability and speed of transactions and signed messages on mobile devices.
