"Another thousand-fold golden dog appeared tonight," "I missed a hundred-fold opportunity after taking a nap." I wonder if you have experienced this; the golden dog always strikes when you are away, and by the time you react, its market value has already exceeded eight digits. So, when do golden dogs appear most frequently? Is it necessary to be online during this period to have a chance? Odaily will review this in this article.
When do golden dogs appear?
We first take the tokens from Pump.fun that are ranked among the top one thousand by market capitalization as the research object, and obtain the token creation time points as follows. The creation time point of 0 means that the token was created between 0:00-1:00 Beijing time, and so on. From this chart, it can be clearly seen that after 9 PM, the frequency of golden dogs jumps from 2% to 4% and continues to rise, peaking between 3 AM and 6 AM, before dropping back to 2%-3% in the morning.
To verify whether this pattern is correct, we expanded the research subjects to include tokens ranked in the top 200 and top 2000 by market capitalization. For a more intuitive representation, a bar chart is added as shown below. It can be seen that for tokens in the top 2000 by market capitalization, the frequency of golden dogs significantly increases after 9 PM, and it also has a significant advantage between 3 AM and 6 AM.
Is there still an opportunity if you miss the night?
For most users, catching dogs in the early morning is difficult, so does missing the first wave in the early morning mean there are no more opportunities? The author compiled the intervals from creation to the first peak for the top 20 tokens, as shown in the figure below. It takes an average of 52.7 hours to ferment to the first peak, while it takes an average of 58.7 days to reach the current top 20 status, indicating that even if you miss the opening, there is still plenty of time to get in.
Data Source
Pump market capitalization rankings can be obtained through the pump frontend API, which includes more than ten pieces of information such as token address, symbol, creation and end times, etc. For top tokens, this API can be used to obtain information. The author has tested that tokens ranked in the top 2050 by market capitalization can be retrieved.
For tokens not in the ranking, the creation time can be queried through the frontend API. The last transaction of this API is the first buy transaction by the developer, and the creation time of the token can be obtained from this transaction.
