Hong Kong ZA Bank (ZA Bank) announced today (11/25) that it has opened up direct cryptocurrency trading for retail users on its platform. Users can directly trade Bitcoin and Ethereum in Hong Kong dollars or US dollars through the ZA Bank application, making it the first bank in Asia to provide cryptocurrency trading services to retail users.

ZA Bank is the first crypto-friendly bank in Hong Kong and has partnered with the current Hong Kong cryptocurrency exchange HashKey. HashKey provides institutional-level trading services, supporting API, large transactions, and enterprise-level account management functions to assist ZA Bank in integrating cryptocurrency trading features.

ZA Bank indicates that, starting today, users can directly trade Bitcoin and Ethereum in Hong Kong dollars or US dollars through the ZA Bank App without switching to other applications, significantly simplifying the cryptocurrency investment process. Although the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission currently allows retail investors to trade four types of cryptocurrencies, ZA Bank temporarily only offers trading services for Bitcoin and Ethereum. ZA Bank's acting CEO, Wu Zhonghao, stated that the bank is in communication with regulatory agencies and will gradually increase support for other currencies in the future.
