According to Techub News, Ye Zhiheng, executive director of the Intermediary Department of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, said at the 2024 Hong Kong Fintech Week that virtual assets have now become the top agenda of every financial regulator. Hong Kong now has three virtual asset trading platforms licensed, and another 15 platform applications are being processed. Investors can expect that more licensed platforms will meet the SFC's protection measures for prudent investors.

Ye Zhiheng also talked about the SFC's various initiatives to promote the booming virtual asset market in Hong Kong, including the implementation of a rapid licensing procedure related to virtual asset trading platforms, the establishment of a virtual asset trading platform advisory group, the formulation of other relevant regulatory measures and initiatives to support tokenization.
