Daniil Egorov, director of the Russian Federal Revenue Service, said he has received about 150 applications from Bitcoin miners wishing to operate in the country. Russia legalized mining earlier this month, when it began receiving these applications.
Before that, the Central Bank of Russia recommended that local companies use cryptocurrencies to circumvent sanctions imposed by the US and European Union countries.
