Due to consecutive setbacks in cryptocurrency trading, as an ordinary creator who loves writing, I have always hoped to find a place where I can create freely and receive reasonable rewards. In traditional content platforms, the Chinese community is too competitive and the earnings are meager, so I started looking for decentralized solutions. Thus, I embarked on a journey to explore blockchain content platforms, and here are my thoughts on various projects:

Initial exploration of Steemit: The enlightenment of blogging creation.

The first platform I came into contact with was Steemit, a decentralized blogging platform. Initially, I felt the atmosphere here was great: creators could earn STEEM rewards through likes and comments. I wrote an article (How Blockchain Changes the Future of Content Creation) and received quite a few likes and attention. However, gradually I discovered the problems:

  1. Intense competition: Only top creators can truly earn considerable income, making it hard for newcomers to break through.

  2. Community aging: The platform's activity level gradually decreased, and interactivity became lower.

Although Steemit allowed me to taste the sweetness of blockchain rewards, its limitations made me start looking for more promising platforms.

Immersive Theta Network: A New Attempt at Video Creation

As an occasional short video creator, I decided to try Theta Network. It focuses on decentralized video transmission, and viewers can earn TFUEL by watching videos. I uploaded a video about the basics of blockchain and received some TFUEL rewards.

However, this platform does not strongly attract me:

  1. High technical threshold: The mechanisms of video transmission and bandwidth rewards are too complex, not every creator can easily understand and utilize them.

  2. Limited interaction: Compared to traditional video platforms, the communication between viewers and creators is not rich enough.

I realized that while Theta's technological innovations are outstanding, they are not suitable for creation needs centered around social interaction.

Obsessed with Audius: A little paradise for musicians.

Next, I tried Audius, a blockchain platform focused on music creation. As an amateur musician, I uploaded an original song (Decode Freedom). The platform indeed attracted a group of excellent music creators, and I even received some AUDIO tips from a few listeners.

However, the limitations of the platform made me give up quickly:

  1. Single field: Audius is only suitable for music creators, and I cannot share my writing or video works here.

  2. Competing with traditional platforms: Compared to YouTube Music and Spotify, Audius's audience size and influence are not sufficient to support long-term creation.

Although Audius made me experience new possibilities in music creation, its limitations prevented me from fully immersing myself.

Trying Rally: A personal economic experiment for creators.

Later, I came into contact with Rally. Its concept is very innovative: each creator can issue their own tokens, and fans can support creators by purchasing tokens. This made me feel like I had become the owner of a 'personal brand company'. I issued my own token StoryCoin and earned some revenue through fan support.

But soon, I discovered the challenge:

  1. Complex token mechanism: It requires a lot of time to maintain the value of personal tokens, and work unrelated to creation distracts me.

  2. Weak fan base: My number of fans is not enough to make the economic model of personal tokens sustainable.

This attempt made me realize that the creator economy requires a strong personal brand, while I prefer to focus on the creation itself.

Encountering Contentos (COS): The end is also a new beginning.

After multiple attempts, I accidentally discovered Contentos and its core product COS.TV. What initially attracted me was its simple positioning: a platform where one can earn rewards through creating videos, articles, and interactions. So, I decided to give it a try.

I uploaded an article and a short video, and the results were surprising:

  1. Diverse content forms: COS supports not only videos but also articles and other creative content, meeting my different creative needs.

  2. User-friendly: Interactions like likes and comments can directly earn $COS rewards, and this immediate feedback makes me feel my efforts are recognized.

  3. The potential of social economy: The features of Channel.VIP allow me to have deeper interactions with fans, who can support my creation through subscriptions, and I can also give them exclusive content in return.

More importantly, COS's ecosystem shows me the possibilities for future development: the combination of Web3 and SocialFi provides a more transparent and sustainable reward mechanism for creators' efforts.

My choice: COS is the most suitable home for me.

After multiple attempts, I finally found a suitable soil for my creation. Compared to other platforms, COS has the following advantages:

  • The perfect combination of content creation and social interaction: I can focus on creation while establishing a genuine connection with fans.

  • Transparent and sustainable economic model: The reward mechanism is clear, operations are simple, making it suitable for all creators.

  • The infinite possibilities of Web3: COS is not just a content platform but also a part of the future social economy.

At COS, I not only achieved creative freedom but also saw greater development prospects. It has been a long exploration, but each attempt has brought me one step closer to my goal.

Now, I have taken root in the COS community, continuously publishing high-quality content and supporting my creative journey through rewards. This is not an end, but a brand new beginning.

Postscript: If you are also a creator looking for your own platform, perhaps COS can become your home. Like me, find your creative future here.
