Web3 game Hamster Kombat plans to “reconnect” with Season 1 players and attract new users despite a recent decline in monthly active users (MAUs). While the Telegram-based clicker game broke records and hit 300 million users in August, excitement has cooled, with MAUs now hovering around 30 million. However, a Hamster Kombat spokesperson said the decline was entirely expected.

The Hamster Kombat team believes that interest levels will have ups and downs but will ultimately rise again in any project.

'Since our project has multiple Seasons, this is normal. Currently, we are in a transitional phase, preparing for Season 2. Even in the phase between two Seasons, our MAU metric still maintains above 30 million, indicating stable interest.'

The spokesperson also added that the team is 'planning to reconnect' with Season 1 players while trying to attract new players they had not been able to reach before.

Retaining the 'core group of gamers'

On November 14, Hamster Kombat reported daily spot trading volume of up to $1.3 billion and perpetual trading volume of $4 billion for Hamster Kombat token (HMSTR). They also reported having 11 million token holders.

'We currently have over 11 million holders, allowing us to compete with leading blockchains. We plan to increase the number of token holders and enter new markets.'

The team believes they are retaining a 'core group of gamers' of about 30 million people, as they remain actively engaged even after the first airdrop.

'This number is greater than the entire community of many other projects even before they conducted an airdrop.'

Hamster Kombat expects to continue expanding its player community as new activities are planned for the future.

Paws, Blum, and booming Telegram games

While Hamster Kombat is making efforts to bounce back, other mini-apps on Telegram are increasing in popularity. One of them is Paws, which has become one of the fastest-growing mini-apps on Telegram. As of the time of writing, Paws has reached 40.7 million MAU, according to information from Telegram.

Additionally, Blum, a hybrid exchange that offers features of both centralized and decentralized exchanges, is also attracting attention as a top mini-app. Blum also includes a click game that allows users to earn points that can be converted into token airdrops.

Another app, Major, has risen to the top of the Telegram Mini App rankings with 34.9 million MAU. Major allows users to complete tasks to earn cryptocurrency.
