Ethereum aims to become a "computer for the decentralized world", but since its birth, it has been facing the "impossible triangle" challenge of the public chain, that is, it is difficult to balance the three dimensions of "decentralization", "security" and "scalability". This has led to Ethereum facing high gas fees and network scalability issues for a long time.

Optimistic Rollup: Adopts the "fraud proofs" mechanism. The Rollup contract records the complete history of the state root and the hash value of each batch. If the new state root of a batch is found to be incorrect, a proof can be submitted to the chain to prove that the batch calculation is incorrect. After the contract verifies the proof, it will roll back the batch, punish the malicious party, and reward the whistleblower. Representative Optimistic Rollup solutions include Arbitrum One, Base, Optimism, Mantle, Blast, Metis, Boba Network, etc.
ZK-Rollup: Using the "validity proofs" mechanism, each batch generates a zk-SNARK cryptographic proof to ensure that the new state root is the correct batch execution result. Regardless of the amount of computation, the proof can be quickly verified on the chain. Representative ZK-Rollup solutions include Scroll, Linea, ZKsync Era, Starknet, Loopring, ZKSpace, etc.
According to the latest Defilama data, the Optimistic Rollups series still dominate the market TVL and applications, including Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Blast, Mantle, etc., while the ZK Rollup series such as Scroll, Linea, and ZKsync have a relatively low market share.
Although the ZK Rollups solution has significant advantages in terms of expansion capacity, throughput, fees, withdrawal speed and latency, and has been recognized by Vitalik as one of the Ethereum expansion solutions, it still faces a series of technical challenges that limit the development of its large-scale application. High ZKP computing costs: ZK computing requires extremely high hardware performance and professional skills. The cost of building ZK computing nodes has increased significantly, becoming a major obstacle to large-scale deployment.
Centralization of Prover: Some ETH ZK-Rollup projects use centralized provers for ZKP verification. This means that when these centralized nodes fail, are attacked, or go offline, the entire network may be affected and transaction confirmation may be hindered.
Network security risks: In some cases, centralized ZKP nodes may prioritize their own interests and selectively generate or delay the creation of proofs, thereby harming the rights and interests of network users.
Complexity of ZKEVM: The initial design of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) did not take into account the compatibility of ZK technology, so generating zk-SNARK valid proofs for EVM programs requires complex cryptographic transformations and smart contract compatibility processing, which further increases the technical complexity.
These technical difficulties have hindered the widespread application of the ZK Rollups solution. Solving these problems will be the key to ZK Rollup's future promotion of large-scale popularization of Web3.

Lumoz Protocol Core Components

ZKProver Node
ZKProver is one of the core components of the Lumoz protocol and is responsible for ZKP calculations within the protocol. By utilizing task splitting, parallel computing, and proof aggregation, the efficiency of ZKP calculations is effectively improved and the overall cost is reduced. The workflow of the ZKProver node is as follows:
Monitoring tasks: The node will continue to monitor the chain to issue corresponding tasks based on the proof type and start the calculation accordingly.
Proof of Computation: A single task will be recursively decomposed into multiple subtasks to achieve parallel computation. At the same time, the node will check the local cache to find any reusable pre-computed or cached results to optimize the process.
Subtask aggregation: Once all subtasks are computed, the results are aggregated into a complete proof.
Aggregation and submission of multiple attestations: Nodes will not submit a single attestation immediately after generation, but wait to aggregate it with subsequent attestations. The combined attestation and node information will be merged into a compact submission, which will then be published on-chain to minimize cost overhead.
Waiting for subsequent verification steps: After submission, the node will enter the next stage of the verification process.
As a ZKProver in Lumoz, participants can contribute decentralized computing power to the network and receive Lumoz protocol tokens as rewards. This not only incentivizes wider community participation, but also ensures the stability and transparency of the network.
ZKVerifier Node
ZKVerifier is another key component in the Lumoz architecture, responsible for verifying the ZKP generated by ZKProver. It ensures the correctness and validity of the proof submitted to the chain, thereby ensuring the trust and security of the system. Through an optimized verification process, ZKVerifier can process proofs efficiently, thereby reducing operating costs and gas consumption. The workflow of the ZKVerifier node is as follows:
Proof submission: The proof generated by ZKProver is submitted to Lumoz Chain to start the verification task.
Proof Verification: Lumoz Chain sends verification tasks to multiple zkVerifier nodes, and each node performs distributed verification independently.
Collective decision-making: At least two-thirds of the verification nodes confirm the validity of the proof to ensure the authority and consistency of the verification results.
Verification result processing: The valid proof and its results are transmitted back to the Lumoz proof contract on the blockchain through the Lumoz AVS Oracle, and the task results are recorded and responded to the Lumoz chain through the task management contract.
In order to build a highly transparent, completely decentralized, and censorship-resistant verification network, Lumoz's vkVerifier Node adopts a licensing mechanism. The license is the official recognition of the ZKVerifier node identity and is a necessary binding condition when setting up a ZKVerifier node.
ZKVerifier Node will also receive network economic incentives in the process of participating in network data verification and calculation. In the Lumoz token economics, the total supply of MOZ is 10 billion, of which 25% of the tokens will be allocated to ZKVerifier nodes, which will also receive potential token airdrop opportunities in the Lumoz ecosystem chain.
Lumoz has set up a total of 100,000 node NFT licenses, which are divided into 10 tiers for sale. The sales started on June 17, 2024, and have gone through three rounds of sales (pre-sale round, whitelist round, and public sale round). Currently, only a small part of the quota is left in the public sale round, and all other categories have been sold out. Lumoz ZK-POW and two-step commit model
In order to support the massive hardware resource requirements brought by a large number of ZK-Rollups, Lumoz adopts the ZK-POW mechanism in its operating mechanism, provides a unified ZKP computing power market, and encourages miners to generate ZKP for these ZK-Rollups.
In the ZKP computing power market network built by Lumoz, participants including miners, developers and users can all benefit from Lumoz's network and help the large-scale application of ZK-Rollup. RaaS Platform:

November 2024: Lumoz launches the PoW testnet. The launch of the PoW testnet is a major update before the launch of the Lumoz mainnet.
