Golden Finance reported that Bonk DAO recently destroyed 100 billion BONK in circulation and plans to destroy 1 trillion BONK before Christmas in December. This large-scale destruction plan (BURNmas) will start at 12:01 am UTC on November 15 and end at 12:01 am UTC on December 24. BONK core contributor iamkadense posted on X: "7.7 trillion BONKs have been destroyed, and the daily destruction volume is still increasing. In addition to the 100 billion BONKs destroyed recently, another 1 trillion BONKs will be destroyed on BONKmas, and the community may not stop there." These destroyed tokens will come from applications in the Solana ecosystem that use BONK to implement one or more functions. According to the official post, these include destruction of bets on Dragontail, Christmas cards sent using BONKmark, transactions on LiveBonk, and other applications specified by BONK's X account.
