A Ukrainian man, Viacheslav Leibov, was robbed by armed men in Phuket, Thailand. They threatened him with weapons, such as a hammer and a knife, and demanded a ransom of 500,000 USDT. Leibov negotiated with them, and the attackers received 250,000 USDT. He was then tied up, told to stay silent, and the robbers left.

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. Physical assaults on individuals with cryptocurrency holdings have been on the rise in Thailand and other parts of the world. For example, a couple was kidnapped and forced to transfer cryptocurrency, and a Russian man was robbed of Bitcoin in a separate incident.

The victims were threatened with violence if they did not comply with the attackers’ demands. This type of crime highlights the importance of being cautious and aware of one’s surroundings when dealing with cryptocurrency and other valuable assets.
