Billionaire Elon Musk is calling for "high-IQ government revolutionaries" willing to work more than 80 hours a week for free to join Mr. Trump's Department of Government Efficiency.
"We don't need part-time thinkers anymore. We need high-IQ government revolutionaries willing to work 80 hours a week without receiving a salary," the account of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) posted on social network X on November 14 (US time).
“If you feel like you fit the bill, send your resume to this account. Elon (Musk) and Vivek (Ramaswamy) will review the top 1% of resumes,” the post added.
In another post, billionaire Musk wrote: "It would be the kind of work that is boring, makes a lot of enemies, and has no rewards."
"What a great deal!", the richest man on the planet wrote, not forgetting to include a smiley face icon.
The Department of Government Efficiency — abbreviated DOGE — is a nod to Musk's Dogecoin cryptocurrency and a viral internet meme depicting a shiba dog. It is not part of the federal government, according to the Guardian.
Earlier, on November 12 (US time), Mr. Trump said in a statement: "I am pleased to announce that the great Elon Musk, along with 'American Patriot' Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)".
“Together, these two great Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle the Government Bureaucracy, cut redundant regulations, cut wasteful spending, and restructure the Federal Agencies that are essential to the ‘Save America’ Movement,” the statement said.
