Europe's richest billionaire Bernard Arnault sues Elon Musk's social network X, the world's richest billionaire =))
Several French media companies owned by billionaire Bernard Arnault have filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk's social network X, accusing the platform of using their content without paying.
The lawsuit was filed on November 12 local time, in which the plaintiff accused social network X of using content from Le Parisien and Les Echos, two French newspapers owned by billionaire Arnault's luxury empire LVMH.
The move was supported by newspapers Le Monde, Le Figaro, Telerama, Courrier International, Huffington Post, Malesherbes Publications and Le Nouvel Obs.
According to the lawsuit, the two newspapers are asking social network X to pay according to regulations that allow news agencies to receive remuneration from digital platforms for distributing their content.
However, social network X has never agreed to negotiate with the two French news publishers on the above issue.
According to Forbes, Mr. Arnault is currently the richest person in Europe and the fifth richest in the world, with his family's net worth estimated at $156 billion.
Meanwhile, billionaire Musk, who also owns Tesla and SpaceX and is a staunch supporter of President-elect Donald Trump, holds the title of world's richest person with a net worth of $308 billion.
The case will go to trial in Paris in May 2025, opening a legal battle between the world's two richest men.
