ChainCatcher reported that according to Forbes, several mainstream French media groups, including Les Echos and Le Parisien owned by Europe's richest man Bernard Arnault, announced a joint lawsuit against Platform X on November 13, 2024. The media group accused Platform X of violating the EU's "neighboring rights" directive and using its news content without paying fees.

Previously, AFP also filed a similar lawsuit against X, and a court hearing is scheduled for May 15, 2025. It is worth noting that this will be the first legal confrontation between Arnault, who is worth $164 billion, and Elon Musk, the current richest man in the world with a net worth of $319 billion.

The Paris court had ordered X on May 24 to provide commercial data within two months in order to assess the revenue it earns from media content, but X has not complied with the decision so far.
