North Korean hackers have developed malware that can bypass Apple's notarization checks, specifically targeting macOS users. Researchers at Jamf Threat Labs state that this is the first detection of such technology used to infiltrate Apple's macOS system. The study found that these malicious applications were primarily developed using Google Flutter and contained names related to cryptocurrency, such as "New Update for Crypto Exchanges" and "New Era of Stablecoins and DeFi," suggesting their targets may be in the cryptocurrency sector. Five malicious applications have obtained developer account signatures and temporarily passed Apple's notarization. Researchers believe these applications may just be tests by North Korean hackers in preparation for larger-scale exploitation. (Cointelegraph)
