According to The Block, Lisk is now live on the mainnet after launching its testnet in February this year.

Lisk’s airdrop campaign will begin on November 21, and the first season will last for four months.

Ethereum Layer 2 network Lisk has launched its mainnet and announced an airdrop plan.

Lisk’s testnet was launched at the end of February this year, after it transitioned from Layer 1 to Layer 2 a few months ago. In addition to the official launch of the mainnet, the platform also plans to distribute 15 million LSK tokens through airdrops.

Lisk’s airdrop campaign will begin on November 21, and the first season will last for four months. Users can earn points by completing tasks on the Lisk platform, and the total points earned will determine how many LSK tokens they can receive through the airdrop.

“We designed this airdrop to be seamless, engaging, educational, and even fun, reflecting our mission to create Web3 applications that are easy to use and beneficial to users,” said Lisk COO Dominic Schwenter in a statement shared with The Block.

Lisk was originally launched as a Layer 1 blockchain in 2016. However, it transitioned to Ethereum Layer 2 in December 2023 to switch to real-world assets and decentralized physical infrastructure networks. Lisk is based on Optimism's Layer 2 development framework OP Stack and Gelato's rollup-as-a-service platform. The move also moved the platform's native token LSK to Ethereum.
