Earlier this week, Andy Ayrey, the mastermind behind the semi-automated AI bot Truth Terminal, discovered that his X account had been hacked, wiping out the bot's investment portfolio. Onchain investigator Zachxbt reported that a FWOG whale appeared to be one of the parties involved in the incident.

The X account hack and the pump and dump scheme — What happened to the creator of Truth Terminal?

In recent weeks, the meme coin goatseus maximus (GOAT), a Solana token developed by the semi-automated AI bot Truth Terminal, has sparked lively discussion. Just a week ago, Bitcoin.com News highlighted how Truth Terminal holds a significant portfolio of meme coins worth tens of millions of dollars. But on Tuesday, the bot's creator, Andy Ayrey, was compromised when his X account was hacked, allowing the attacker to launch a new meme coin and promote it through his account. This pump and dump scheme netted the hacker over $600,000. Ayrey claimed that his X account was compromised through a SIM swap.

Subsequently, the Solana wallet of Truth Terminal, which once held meme assets worth millions of dollars, was drained, with the funds dispersed across multiple wallets. On November 3, onchain analyst Zachxbt shared that an individual involved seemed to be a FWOG whale—FWOG is a meme coin that has recently garnered attention in the cryptocurrency community. "I conducted some initial tracking for the hack of Andy Ayrey (the creator of Truth Terminal) this week, leading to the theft of over $1.5 million from the deployment of multiple packaged meme coins and discovered that one of the individuals involved in the incident appeared to be a FWOG whale," Zachxbt mentioned on his Telegram channel.

The onchain investigator also shared wallet addresses related to the breach. As of Sunday morning, the meme coin goatseus maximus (GOAT) of Truth Terminal had been affected by the market downturn. GOAT had dropped 7.2% in the past 24 hours and was down 34.5% against the US dollar over the past week. Currently priced at $0.4546 per GOAT, this token has decreased by 48.6% from its all-time high of $0.8788 reached on October 24, just ten days prior. However, GOAT remains up 938.4% from its all-time low of $0.04354 recorded on October 13.

The attack targeting Truth Terminal and its creator highlights several risks in the cryptocurrency space, where even sophisticated AI bots and seasoned developers can still fall victim to increasingly complex attacks. The sharp decline in the market value of GOAT illustrates the financial impact that often accompanies such breaches, as investor confidence is shaken, causing prices to plummet. This incident may lead to closer scrutiny of meme coins, particularly those created by artificial intelligence.
