I’d like to discuss a recent issue I encountered with scams in P2P (peer-to-peer) trading. On August 26, 2024, I completed a P2P sell order where the buyer sent a fiat payment, which I confirmed in my bank account before releasing the USDT.
However, just two days later, a portion of my bank balance was unexpectedly frozen. Concerned, I contacted my bank's support, only to learn that the freeze was linked to a cyber-crime complaint. They couldn’t provide further information, such as who filed the complaint or any specific details.
As I investigated, I reviewed my recent transactions and noticed that several other users had similar account freezes after trading with the same buyer on Binance. It seems that some are exploiting P2P trades by filing complaints against fiat transactions or initiating chargebacks post-payment.
Currently, my funds remain frozen, and I have no clear indication of when or if they’ll be released. I advise others to carefully check users’ profiles before engaging in P2P trades and urge Binance to take stronger measures to protect traders.
If anyone has faced a similar situation, could you share any advice on steps to unfreeze funds?
