Wisesoft, a software company that builds air-control programs, has doubled its stock price over the past month as the company's Chinese name became associated with candidate Donald Trump's victory in the upcoming US presidential election.

Donald Trump Victory Stocks Rise on Election Result Expectations

Wisesoft, a company that builds software for air monitoring purposes, has recently seen a sudden surge for strange reasons. “Chuan Da Zhi Sheng,” Wisesoft’s Chinese name, sounds like “Trump’s victory,” a motive that has Chinese investors betting on the company in anticipation of the upcoming U.S. election.

This surprising behavior comes after the company's negative third quarter, reporting a revenue drop and a 30% loss, equivalent to $1.4 million. However, the stock price has doubled since last month, a rise that is not correlated with the 20% increase of the CSI300 index after China’s stimulus plan was revealed.

According to local experts, this indicates the unconventional dynamics of Chinese investors, who are willing to invest in the market based on these relationships rather than on business fundamentals.

Wang Zichen, a researcher at the China and Globalization Center, told SCMP that these events form part of the Chinese stock market. He stated:

It can be said that the Chinese stock market is still lacking maturity and investors often act irrationally.

Moreover, he stated that while the elections in the United States are happening everywhere, the attention of Chinese investors on this issue is 'very unconventional or even meaningless.'

Xu Tianchen, another economist, blames the high level of actual investors in the Chinese market and possible manipulation schemes. 'The role of speculative interests should not be overlooked. They often manipulate small-cap, illiquid stocks, creating attention, and then take profits when retail investors rush in,' he emphasized.

This is not the first time a Chinese stock has risen due to Trump’s name acting as a catalyst. After Trump's assassination in July, the Chinese audio component manufacturer Goertek also saw a price increase because the Chinese pronunciation of the company's name is similar to the Chinese expression meaning 'cut ear.'

While traditional polls show a tight race between Trump and Kamala Harris, the cryptocurrency market prediction on Polymarket gives Trump a significant advantage over his Democratic opponent.
