PANews, October 31st news, Polygon co-founder Daniel Lubarov stated on the X platform that its zero-knowledge proof system Plonky3 can now process over 2 million Poseidon2 hash computations per second. This progress is mainly related to memory optimization, including avoiding data duplication, skipping zeroing operations, and merging FFT steps to keep content in cache.
In response, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated: “The Polygon team has won this race, with a processing speed equivalent to 62 MB of Merkle tree hash computations per second, sufficient to re-hash the maximum theoretical consensus state of Ethereum within a single slot.”
