Recently, TRON collaborated with the Columbia University Blockchain Club and the Boston University Blockchain Club to successfully hold the TRON Builder Tour event at Columbia University, reigniting students' enthusiasm for blockchain technology. This event not only provided a platform for students, developers, and mentors to communicate and learn but also further promoted the popularization and development of blockchain technology in academia.
Since the launch of the TRON Builder Tour, several successful events have been held at renowned institutions such as MIT, Cornell University, Princeton University, and Harvard University. These events aim to strengthen communication and cooperation in academia through practical discussions and widely disseminate blockchain knowledge among universities. Through the TRON Builder Tour, TRON has not only provided university students with opportunities to engage with and learn about blockchain technology but has also inspired their enthusiasm for innovation in blockchain applications.
On October 5, the TRON Builder Tour at Columbia University held an extraordinary hackathon competition. This 12-hour competition attracted over 120 students from renowned universities such as Harvard University, Boston University, New York University, University of California, Berkeley, Columbia University, University of Waterloo, and Princeton University. The competition focused on four major tracks: DeFi, Artistry, Integration, and Web3, encouraging participants to build decentralized applications (DApps) on the TRON blockchain to promote innovative applications of blockchain technology.
Several experienced developers and early builders of the TRON community traveled from all over the United States to provide guidance and support for the students' projects. The mentor team present included Dwayne Gordon, the founder of the TRON community project, Eder Teixeira, a TRON Super Representative, and Wes Jorgensen from the Boston University Blockchain Club. With their rich industry experience, they provided valuable advice and feedback to help students further refine their projects.
After intense competition, several outstanding projects emerged. In the DeFi track, projects such as Stakecess, TEAMDR, and PrisonCoin won the judges' favor with their innovative financial protocols and asset management solutions. In the Artistry track, projects like Monkey Lotto, NoCapMaps, and MetaForge showcased the infinite possibilities of blockchain technology in the entertainment and cultural fields by integrating cutting-edge technologies such as GameFi, NFTs, and the Metaverse. In the Integration track, projects like TRONFundYou and Swap Squad provided strong support for the further development of blockchain applications by integrating advanced protocols and optimizing the TRON ecosystem. In the Web3 track, projects like AI Bot focused on launching practical DAO tools and blockchain infrastructure, facilitating the transition from Web2 to Web3.
In addition, TRON simultaneously launched the seventh season of the TRON Hackathon during the TRON Builder Tour event. This competition aims to inspire talents from various fields to innovate actively, using the TRON blockchain to develop solutions and further promote the development and application of blockchain technology.
As a DAO for community management, TRON has been committed to accelerating the decentralization of the internet through blockchain technology and DApps. Since its establishment, TRON has continuously achieved remarkable accomplishments. As of October 2024, the total number of TRON accounts has exceeded 266 million, with a total transaction volume of over 8.7 billion and a total locked value (TVL) exceeding 15.8 billion USD. In the future, TRON will continue to uphold its innovative philosophy, promoting the application and development of blockchain technology in more fields.
