PANews reported on October 21 that executives of Blockchain.com, a cryptocurrency company headquartered in London with a market value of approximately 5 billion pounds, are facing prosecution because the company failed to submit financial reports on time. Nicolas Cary, co-founder and president of the company, and Al Turnbull, operations director, received a summons from the UK Companies House in May this year. The case was heard at the Cardiff Magistrates' Court on September 25 and will be heard again on November 26.

Blockchain.com was founded in 2011. The company said the delay in filing the report was due to the need for time to stabilize operations due to corporate restructuring and "significant reductions in the group's staff". Nevertheless, the company said it had taken appropriate measures to ensure compliance with all statutory annual reporting requirements. Companies that fail to submit financial reports on time could result in executives facing unlimited fines.
