The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved changes to stock exchange rules that will allow the listing of options linked to spot Bitcoin ETFs, expanding the investment ecosystem around the products that have attracted billions of dollars this year.

The NYSE and Cboe Global Markets have been approved to list and trade options on various Bitcoin ETFs, including the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust and the Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund.

The SEC believes that Bitcoin ETF options will improve liquidity, price efficiency, and reduce volatility, as well as increase transparency and efficiency in the markets.
