PANews reported on October 18 that according to Christine Kim, vice president of research at Galaxy, Ethereum developers held the 144th All Core Developers Consensus Call (ACDC). Developers agreed to add a new code change to Pectra, EIP 7742, which enables the Beacon chain to dynamically set the target and maximum blob gas limit of the network. The addition of EIP 7742 suggests that developers may also add measures to increase the target and maximum blob gas limit in Pectra. However, some developers raised concerns during the call that the addition of other EIPs (especially EIP 7742) would delay the activation of other Pectra code changes on the mainnet.

In addition, the developers discussed the progress of testing of the Pectra and PeerDAS development networks. Pectra Devnet 3 is about to be closed and there are still unresolved issues. The launch of Pectra Devnet 4 requires more execution layer clients to pass local Kurtosis tests. Devnet 4 is expected to be launched on October 18. The developers then continued to discuss some unresolved issues related to the Pectra code specification, as well as issues such as PeerDAS and Blob expansion.
