Scroll has recently faced growing backlash from community members over its announced partnership with Binance. Critics have argued that the focus on supporting major exchanges has overlooked rewards for community members. In response, Scroll management has taken steps to clarify and defend its stance.

Scroll Founder Ye Zhang Defends the Strategic Value of Binance Partnership

Addressing community concerns, Ye Zhang, one of the founders of Scroll, emphasized that the partnership with Binance is not just for listing purposes but is also a strategic move to expand the project and ensure wider market support.

Zhang emphasized the importance of Binance’s key access services to stablecoins, especially for expanding into developing markets. He noted that in these areas, Binance is considered more trustworthy and widely used than Ethereum:

“When I visited Africa, I saw everyone using Binance – it has even more legitimacy than Ethereum for many locals.”

Responding to Community Concerns About Token Distribution

Zhang also clarified that the 5.5% of tokens allocated to the Binance launchpool came from the ecosystem and growth budget, not from the community airdrop pool. Additionally, he pointed out that Scroll has dedicated a significant portion of tokens to community rewards.

To avoid creating an unfair advantage for large investors, Scroll implemented a purchase limit of 2,500 SCR per user during the pre-launch phase, facilitating a wider distribution to potential holders. Zhang reaffirmed his commitment to long-term community engagement and development:

“More information will be released in the coming weeks.”

Scroll Management claims that the partnership with Binance is designed to align with current market conditions and strengthen the project’s competitive position. They assert that their token distribution strategies will support the development of a healthy and decentralized ecosystem.

The partnership with Binance aims to provide Scroll with a large investor base and significant infrastructure support. Measures taken to address community concerns are aimed at enhancing the long-term success of the project.
