Former FTX executive Ryan Salame began his prison sentence at FCI Cumberland on October 11, 2024. Salame was sentenced to 90 months in prison for his role in the FTX crash in 2022 and pleaded guilty in 2023 to unregulated money transfer and campaign finance charges.

Salame attempted to postpone his October 11 deadline to December 7, 2024, but the request was denied by prosecutors and denied by Judge Lewis Kaplan.

Despite his prison sentence, Salame has kept his spirits high and adapted his social media profiles to life in prison. In an interview with Laura Shin, he expressed regrets about the approximately $600,000 in crypto he withdrew during the FTX crash.
