**SEC Delays Decision on Ether ETF Options**

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has postponed its decision on whether to allow the Cboe Exchange to list options tied to spot Ether (ETH) exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Initially set for October 19, the ruling has now been pushed back to December 3.

In August, Cboe sought SEC approval to list options on nine ETFs, including those from BlackRock and Fidelity. This delay follows a similar postponement in September regarding Nasdaq's request to list options on iShares Ethereum Trust.

The SEC did, however, clear options on iShare’s spot Bitcoin ETF in September. These Bitcoin options are awaiting final approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) and are expected to launch by Q1 2025.

Options, which allow traders to buy or sell assets at specific prices, are seen as a significant step forward for the crypto market, providing new opportunities for investors and financial advisers.
